New SCO development phase

“This meeting of the council of foreign ministers of the SCO is the final stage of preparation for the main event in the organization's activities this year – the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the SCO, which will be held in Samarkand on September 15-16, 2022,” the minister of foreign affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov in a speech at the meeting.
To date, more than 70 major events and 15 ministerial-level conferences have been held together with partners under the chairmanship of Uzbekistan. They were aimed at fully revealing the enormous potential of multifaceted cooperation at the new stage of development of the SCO.
This is, first of all, the development of practical cooperation in promising areas with high demand, such as industrial cooperation, interregional trade, interconnection, innovation, poverty reduction, digital transformation, “green economy”.
It is necessary to conduct an in-depth analysis of the still unused reserves of the SCO and look at it in a new way. The most effective way to realize the enormous potential of our organization is to activate real cooperation in areas such as trade, transport, industrial and technological cooperation, digital transformation and artificial intelligence, “green economy” and climate adaptation.
In particular, the initiative to create an industrial zone “Uzbekistan – SCO” in the Samarkand region of Uzbekistan is aimed at implementing these tasks,” the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan emphasized in his speech .
Also, the foreign ministers of Kazakhstan, India, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Pakistan spoke at the event and spoke about the importance, goals and plans of this event.
