New transport corridor development project discussed with ESCAP delegation

The Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a meeting with the delegation of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) to discuss development of transport corridor Uzbekistan - Turkmenistan - Iran - India through the port of Chobahor.
During the negotiations it was agreed to develop a technical and economic basis for a new transport corridor, which will ensure the stability of trade turnover between Uzbekistan and India, which in the near future will reach one billion dollars.
It is noted that this corridor is also aimed at ensuring the continuity of supply of products in mutual trade relations between Central Asian countries and India, which in the near future could amount to 3.2 billion dollars.
