Nuclear weapons programmes are being actively developed around the world

In a recent report, the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute stated that all nations of the "nuclear club" (Russia, Britain, Israel, India, China, North Korea, Pakistan, the US and France) are actively developing programmes related to nuclear weapons.

In January 2021, for example, there were 12,705 nuclear arsenals around the world, rising to 13,080 a year later. The number of nuclear weapons in the world is expected to rise again in the next decade.

According to Kyodo news agency, China plans to triple its arsenal of nuclear warheads to 900 by 2035.

According to the information, the nuclear weapons buildup is planned to be carried out in two stages.

In the first phase, it is expected to be increased to 550 by the 100th anniversary of PLA formation in 2027, and in the second phase the arsenal will be expanded to 900 by 2035.

According to sources, China currently has the third largest nuclear arsenal with 350 nuclear warheads after the Russian Federation and the United States.
