On the CICA informal conference

In New York, a delegation of Uzbekistan headed by Foreign Minister Vladimir Norov took part in an informal ministerial meeting within the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) organized at the initiative of the Kazakhstan side on the margins of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly.

The event was attended by representatives of 26 states, including Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Bahrain, Jordan, India, Iran, Pakistan, Russia, Turkey and others.

Issues on preparation for the sixth CICA summit in Astana on 12-13 October 2022, as well as coordination of final documents were negotiated.

The Uzbek side brought to the participants specific proposals and initiatives of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev for implementation within the framework of CICA.
