The "II World Conference on Early Childhood Care and Education" (Wcecece) began its work in Tashkent on November 14. Today, November 15, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the event, which was attended by UNESCO Director General Audrey Azoulay, ministers and representatives from about 150 countries, experts and officials from international organizations.
At the conference the President of Uzbekistan put forward important initiatives to expand international cooperation in pre-school education.
In particular, it was proposed that this international conference be held on a regular basis with a view to effectively addressing the issues of quality early childhood education at the global level and jointly developing rapid solutions and systemic approaches.
In order to coordinate all efforts, consistent with the goals of the United Nations in the field of sustainable development, the initiative to establish a regional UNESCO center in Tashkent was put forward.
The need to conduct joint projects and research with the World Organization for Early Childhood Education, to develop a comprehensive program of training new methods of education and methodological aids was noted.
He put forward an initiative to create an international community of educators to exchange best practices in this area, modern interactive teaching methods, practical knowledge and skills.
The importance of including the issue of early childhood education and care was emphasized as one of the main themes of the forthcoming United Nations Summit in 2024.
The conference continued with satellite meetings on various topics. In particular, a state program for 2022-2026 was signed between UNESCO and Uzbekistan.
A Memorandum of Mutual Understanding between Uzbekistan and UNESCO was signed during the event. Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan - Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage Aziz Abdukhakimov and UNESCO Director General Audrey Azoulay took part in the ceremony.
