Organization of Turkic States Investment Fund to be established

The 11th Meeting of Ministers of Economy and Trade of member states was held today in Samarkand within the framework of the summit of the Organization of Turkic States.

The meeting discussed issues of multilateral and large-scale work and outlined further activities aimed at acceleration of trade-economic, investment, transport and logistics partnership.

It is noted that the ministers, among other things, discussed at the meeting the strategy within the organization for the years 2022-2026. An agreement was also reached to ensure implementation of a policy document covering the development of political, trade and economic, social, cultural and security areas.

Prospects of investment cooperation were separately considered at the meeting. An agreement was reached to speed up the signing of agreement on setting up an Investment Fund of the Organization of Turkic States, which would serve as a robust framework for promoting and implementing major joint projects and initiatives.

Readiness was expressed for active development of measures within the framework of "Trade Facilitation Strategy" to be signed during the first summit of Heads of State.
