Our President calls on the European Union to intensify cooperation on green development

Our President called on the European Union to intensify cooperation in the field of green development, paying special attention to ECO-innovations, wide implementation of energy- and resource-efficient technologies, digitalisation of economic sectors, development of smart agriculture through the European Smart-AKIS network.

Within the Erasmus+ and European Horizon programmes, it has been proposed to implement a project on the introduction of best European practices in education and to carry out joint fundamental and applied research.

A big exhibition is planned to be held in the second half of November in Paris, in Louvre, on culture of nations of our region. An initiative has been put forward to hold annually similar events in the capitals and cultural centres of European states.

The Head of State stressed the importance of strengthening practical cooperation in regional security.

The need for coordinated action and the real support of the entire international community for Afghanistan was stressed.

Three years have passed since the adoption of the renewed EU Strategy for Central Asia. Unfortunately, it was noted that because of the pandemic, many activities and issues have not been fully realised.

In this regard, the President suggested that consideration should be given to the adoption of a multilateral policy document - a 'road map' to accelerate implementation of the strategy and strengthen cooperation.

In conclusion, the leader of Uzbekistan stressed that he was in favour of an open, systematic and fruitful dialogue in the Central Asia-European Union format for the sake of sustainable development, prosperity and welfare of our countries
