Over 160 large private grain mills with a capacity of about 3 mln tons have been launched

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev is holding a meeting on measures to promote the efficiency of transformation processes in grain enterprises.

"As you see, food prices in world markets are rising rapidly.

Today, 1 ton of wheat is sold on international exchanges for $ 400, which is 30% more than at the beginning of the year.

In this case, the only way to ensure price stability is to increase the supply in the market by ensuring the productivity of farmers.

In order to do so, it is necessary to fully introduce market mechanisms in grain.

We have been preparing for these reforms for a long time. Carefully considering all the issues, this work is being carried out step by step,” the President said at the beginning of the meeting.

The share of the private sector is growing due to the wide access to the sector.

In particular, over the past three years, over 160 large private grain enterprises with a capacity of about 3 million tons have been launched in regions.
