Part of a bridge under construction on behalf of the President collapsed in Karakalpakstan

A photo of part of the collapsed bridge under construction between Amudarya and Karauzyak districts of Karakalpakstan spread on social networks. The press service of the Amudarya district khokimiyat commented on the situation.

It is noted that after the visit of Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Khorezm region, the construction of a joint vehicle-railway bridge across the Amudarya river, which will connect the Republic of Karakalpakstan and Khorezm region, was launched.

Uzbekiston Temir Yullari (Uzbekistan Temir Yullari) acted as the project customer, Boshtransloyiha was the general designer, and Uzbekiston Temir Yullari structural units were the general contractor.

It is noted that in order to organize the railway transport network from the territory of Amudarya region to Khorezm region, a suspension bridge between 717th and 718th kilometre has been constructed.

Temporary support beams on this bridge were installed by Bridge Construction Brigade No. 14. These blocks are considered as a temporary and auxiliary tool in the construction of the bridge. No one was injured in the accident.

Relevant specialists were called in from Tashkent to clarify this situation.
