Partnership with the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank

On January 27, Sardor Umurzakov, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, met with Vice President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) K. Limitovsky.
In the context of the meeting, the sides canvassed the current state of cooperation, the implementation of AIIB projects in Uzbekistan, as well as promising areas for further elaborating the partnership.
The talks focused on the allocation of credit lines for the implementation of projects aimed at industrial and regional development and socio-economic development of the country, as well as the attraction of the Bank's resources to finance private companies implementing projects in Uzbekistan.
What is more, the contingency of establishing cooperation between the Agency for International Cooperation and Development and the AIIB to ensure the effective implementation of joint investment projects and programs was considered.
Prospects for the organization of the Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the AIIB in Uzbekistan in 2024 were addressed, and the next steps for the implementation of this initiative were identified.
