Permits to work in driving schools are issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs

Licenses for training drivers in driving schools are issued by the State Inspectorate for Quality Control of Education under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan. But road safety is entrusted to the traffic safety units of internal affairs bodies.

This is defined in the Law "On making additions and changes to certain legal documents of the Republic of Uzbekistan".

Currently, 1348 licensed driving schools are operating in the republic. They train an average of 500-530 thousand drivers every year.
