Phthisiatricians and pulmonologists receive training in foreign medical centres

Presidential Decree "On Measures Aimed at Further Development of Phthisiatric and Pulmonary Diseases Services in 2023-2026" was adopted. Under the resolution, up to 40 physiotherapists and pulmonologists, selected on the basis of competitive selection, will be sent for training to foreign medical centres in 2023-2026.
Also according to the decision:
-Phthisiopulmonology departments shall be established on the basis of phthisiatric departments and offices within district (city) multidisciplinary central polyclinics;
-Posts of chief pulmonologist in regional multidisciplinary medical centres have been transferred to regional phthisiology and pulmonology centres;
-Sleep apnoea centres have been established to diagnose and treat disorders of nighttime sleep quality and respiratory function.
The Lung Health mobile team carries out screening activities as part of free medical check-ups for people living in hard-to-reach, inaccessible, environmentally disadvantaged areas.
According to the decision, up to 40 physiotherapists and pulmonologists selected as a result of the tender will be sent for training to foreign medical centres in 2023-2026.
