Political parties were officially allowed to participate in the elections of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan

On August 14, a regular meeting of the CEC was held on the admission of political parties to participate in the presidential elections, approval of the composition of electoral districts and media accreditation. The meeting was held under the leadership of the Chairman of the CEC Z. Nizamkhodzhaev.

At the meeting, the candidates nominated to all district election commissions were considered and approved.
Currently, the number of members of the Election Commission in 14 constituencies is 266 people. Of these, 104 are women (39%), 14 are people with disabilities (5%); by profession - 32 lawyers (12%), 21 doctors (8%), 26 engineers (10%), 90 teachers (34%), 41 economists (15%), 11 journalists (4%) and 45 representatives of other spheres (17%).

The meeting also reviewed the draft Resolution on the accreditation of media representatives.

To date, the Central Election Commission receives many applications on the accreditation of media representatives. To date, more than 700 media representatives have been accredited.

At the end of the meeting, the relevant Decision of the Central Election Commission was adopted on the issues on the agenda.
