President gives instructions on greenhouse issues

Shavkat Mirziyoyev, expressing dissatisfaction with entrepreneurs over the disconnection of greenhouses from the gas supply, immediately instructed the head of the Presidential Administration, Sardor Umurzakov, to address this issue.

At a meeting chaired by the head of the administration on the evening of October 27, numerous objections were raised over the unintentional disconnection of greenhouses from the natural gas supply. In particular, entrepreneurs protested and sharply criticised the responsible officials on October 25.

"They are coming to the presidential administration because officials at the Cabinet of Ministers and the Agriculture Ministry are not dealing with this issue at all and are not finding solutions to entrepreneurs' problems", Umurzakov said.

Entrepreneurs owning greenhouses also attended the meeting. They expressed their opinions on the problems they are concerned about and the painful problems in their operations.

As it turned out, JSC "Hududgazta'minot" disconnected 268 greenhouses on an area of 700 hectares from natural gas. This may result in the loss of 70,000 tons of harvest, a loss of export of 30 million dollars, and unemployment of some 10,000 residents, mostly employed in the disconnected greenhouses.

Taking this into account, the Energy Ministry has been instructed to provide gas to all the disconnected greenhouses within one day.

The issue of shifting the greenhouses to alternative energy (coal) was also discussed during the meeting.

In their turn, in order to create necessary conditions for greenhouse entrepreneurs to grow crops without destroying them, instructions were given to provide them with financial means from relevant sources within 1 day.
