President participates in the meeting of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia

Regular summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia with participation of about 50 delegations from member and observer states, international and regional organizations has begun in Astana.
President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ibrahim Raisi, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadir Japarov, Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif, President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas participated in the Forum, Emir of the State of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, President of Turkiye Rejep Tayyip Erdogan, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, and Vice-President of the People's Republic of China Wang Qishan, Vice-President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Vo Thi Anh Xuan.
The Conference on Interaction and Confidence-building Measures in Asia (CICA) is an international forum aimed at expanding cooperation in the areas of security and stability, trade and economic partnership, cooperation in environmental protection. This year, the initiative to create this forum is 30 years old.
Currently, 28 states are members of CICA. Another 9 countries and 5 international organizations have the observer status. The supreme body of CICA is the Summit of Heads of State and Government. Since 2020, Kazakhstan is chairing CICA.
President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev in his speech at the summit in Astana assessed the current international situation, emerging against the background of an unprecedented deficit of dialogue and trust, growing uncertainty in international relations.
Leaders of member states, heads of delegations of countries and international organizations, who are observers, also spoke at the summit. A video message of the UN Secretary-General was presented.
