Press conference following the meeting of tourism ministers

Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Mirvohid Azimov held a press conference on the results of the 7th meeting of the Ministers of Tourism of the OTS member and observer countries.

"First of all, I would like to inform you that Shamakhi will be the “Turkic World Tourism Capital” for the year 2023. In this context, various activities, conferences, festivals and other projects will be carried out to promote this beautiful and historic city." - said the Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic states Mirvokhid Azimov.

Secondly, we came to a common understanding to bring together the Associations of the Travel Agencies and other stakeholders of Turkic Countries. 

Thirdly, the joint roadmap on tourism to plan our upcoming projects and activities is adopted to design the future plans on tourism in a systematic way.

Fourth, we will organize an ad hoc working group meeting with the aim to increase the number of flights among the major cities of the Member and Observer States.

Fifth, it have been agreed to work on revealing the potential partnership on the Winter and Golf Tourism in the upcoming period. 

Last but not least, upon the initiative of the Azerbaijan side, it will be developed “Best Tourism Villages of the Turkic States initiative” in the upcoming period to share the experience and best practices among the selected the villages of the Turkic World.
