Production of premium iPhones to be moved to Vietnam

A TrendForce report notes that Apple will move some of its premium iPhone production from China to Vietnam.
According to experts, the forecast for shipments of the iPhone 14 series smartphones in 2022 is reduced to 78.1 million units due to quarantine in China.
Meanwhile, Apple has decided to diversify its production of Pro models, stripping Foxconn of its status as the sole manufacturer of the gadgets. According to TrendForce, the corporation will outsource some orders for the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max to Luxshare.
Analysts note that Luxshare has an iPhone accessories plant in Vietnam and a smartphone production line in China. To reduce dependence on Chinese manufacturing, Apple will have to stop relying on local partners and consider factories in other Asian countries.
According to experts, to continuously supply the North American market with premium smartphones, Apple needs to focus 30-35% of its capacity outside of China.
