Programme of cooperation between the foreign ministries of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan adopted

Another regular political consultations between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Kyrgyzstan were held today, November 3, in Bishkek. The delegations led by Foreign Ministers Vladimir Norov and Jeenbek Kulubaev discussed topical issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.

During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the delimitation of the state border between Uzbekistan and the Republic of Kyrgyzstan. It was noted that the completion of legal registration of the state border crossing line on the principles of equality, mutual benefit and good neighborliness is in the interests of the two countries and the entire Central Asia.

Issues of joint implementation of major infrastructure and energy projects, including construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, were discussed separately.

Views have been exchanged on a range of joint cultural and humanitarian events.

The following documents were signed during the Uzbek delegation's visit to Bishkek:

Agreement on certain sections of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz state border;
Agreement on the joint management of the water resources of the Andijan (Kampirabad) reservoir;
Agreement between the Ministry of Water Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Water Resources Service under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic on cooperation in water management issues;
Cooperation Agreement between the International Institute of Central Asia and the Diplomatic Academy under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic;
Memorandum of Cooperation between the Agency "Uzarxiv" and the Ministry of Digital Development of the Kyrgyz Republic.
A Joint Statement of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and a programme of cooperation between the foreign ministries of Uzbekistan and the Kyrgyz Republic for 2023-2024 were also adopted.
