Prospects for the development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the OIS were determined

On August 15 this year, on the eve of the visit of the head of state to Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), a meeting was held with the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan-Minister of investments and foreign trade Jamshid Khodjaev, secretary general of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Hissain Brakhim Takha. In it, the parties exchanged views on the current state and prospects for the development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the OIS.
Representatives of Uzbekistan noted the importance of OIS as one of the influential international intergovernmental Islamic organizations successfully promoting promising interregional and international initiatives of the Islamic world, as well as ensuring the active development of relations between member states of the organization in the political, trade-economic, transport-communication and cultural-humanitarian spheres. As an effective communication platform based on the principle of "Islam is the religion of peace and development", readiness was expressed to support the further development of the OIS in every possible way.
It was noted that Uzbekistan continues to make a positive contribution to strengthening the role and importance of OIS today. The organization's leadership expressed its readiness to make every effort to develop multifaceted cooperation with Uzbekistan in the political, trade-economic, transport-communication and cultural-humanitarian spheres in order to bring bilateral cooperation to a qualitatively new level.
At the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached on the activation of practical cooperation between the OIS and Uzbekistan aimed at expanding cooperation. Also, the parties agreed to speed up the agreement and approval of the cooperation agreement within the framework of the organization of the activities of the “Tourist capital of Khiva – OIS 2024".
