Russian President Vladimir Putin has awarded the title "Mother Heroine" to Medny Kadyrova, the wife of Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov.
"For great services in strengthening the institution of the family and the upbringing of children in the Chechen Republic, award the title 'Mother Heroine' to Medni Musayevna Kadyrova," reads the decree published by the head of state.
The decree was signed by the President on August 15, when he proposed to restore the title of Mother-heroine, which used to be awarded to her in the USSR on International Children's Day on June 1.
The title "Mother-heroine" is awarded to women who have given birth to and raised ten or more children. The recipients of this award also receive a lump sum payment of one million roubles. Kadyrov's official website also reports that he has 14 children.
