Reforms in the textile industry received international recognition

On November 16 this year, Chairperson of the Senate of Oliy Majlis, Chairperson of the National Commission on combating human trafficking and forced labor T.Narbaeva met with the Director General of the international organization "Better Cotton Initiative" (BCI) Alan Makkley, who arrived in our country to participate in a "round table" on the activities of the organization in Uzbekistan.

During the conversation, the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, chairperson of the National Commission on combating human trafficking and forced labor T.Narbayeva noted that over the past years under the leadership of President of Uzbekistan Sh.Mirziyoyev reforms are implemented in all spheres, significant changes have occurred in labor relations, in various sectors of the economy, in the cotton and textile industries, large-scale systemic work has been done in the field.

It was stressed during the conversation that all necessary conditions are being created for effective investment activity and business in Uzbekistan, and most importantly, all opportunities are being created for decent work based on recommendations of international organizations.

It was noted that after the lifting of the boycott of Uzbek cotton as a result of wide-ranging reforms to combat human trafficking and forced labor, international brands and large companies seek to cooperate with local businesses. The issues of attracting brand enterprises through wide implementation of international standards in the activities of enterprises of the cotton and textile industry become relevant.

During the dialogue, the parties discussed the implementation of international standards and the development of cooperation, the textile industry through the implementation of new projects in these processes.
