Researchers get $100k and a Model 3 electric car for hacking Tesla

At this week's Pwn2Own security conference in Vancouver, researchers managed to hack into Tesla's security system twice. For this they received a reward of $100,000 and a Tesla Model 3 electric car.

In a second successful attack, the Synacktiv team was able to hack into the Model 3's infotainment system via Bluetooth. In total, Synacktiv team members successfully completed the majority of hacking attempts on various products, earning 53 Master of Pwn points and receiving a total of $530,000 in rewards.
