Reuters: Russia supplies gasoline and diesel fuel to Iran

The Russian Federation is exporting gasoline and diesel fuel to Iran by rail for the first time this year. This is reported by Reuters.

It is noted that these two countries, which have fallen under Western sanctions, are further strengthening their ties in order to support their economy, as well as to downplay the importance of sanctions, which Moscow and Tehran consider unjustified.

Last autumn, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak announced the beginning of the exchange of petroleum products with Iran. According to Reuters sources, in practice deliveries began this year.

In particular, in February and March, Moscow supplied Tehran with up to 30 thousand tons of gasoline and diesel fuel. All operations were carried out by rail through Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.

Sources of the publication claim that part of its cargo was sent from Iran to neighboring countries, including Iraq, by trucks.
