Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov visited the United States

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov arrived in New York, USA today, April 24. He will take part in the next session of the UN Security Council.

Lavrov is expected to meet with UN Secretary General António Guterres on April 25. In addition, he invited top diplomats from a number of countries, including US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, to take part in meetings of the UN Security Council chaired by Russia. The question of a personal dialogue between Lavrov and Blinken at the UN is still unknown.

Recall that the United States refused to issue visas to Russian journalists to visit the UN Security Council. Lavrov called this behavior of the United States stupid and promised that Moscow "will not forget and will not forgive" this.
