Samarkand International Airport will introduce the «Open Skies» scheme

The "Open Skies" scheme is to abolish restrictions on flights and routes for foreign air companies in accordance with the norms of international law, taking into consideration the technical capacities of Samarkand International Airport.
With the purpose to enhance tourism potential of Uzbekistan, fully use the opportunities of the newly established Samarkand International Airport and develop the competitive environment at the market of air traffic, the "Open Skies" scheme will be launched at the Samarkand International Airport on October 1.
Now foreign air companies will be able to fly to Samarkand International Airport, regardless the presence or absence of intergovernmental agreement on air communication.
Foreign aviation administrations will be informed of the introduction of the new scheme at Samarkand International Airport from 1 October this year.
