Samarkand - tourist gates of new Uzbekistan

Presidential decree "On additional measures for effective use of tourism and transport potential of Samarkand region, development of the region on the basis of the concept" Samarkand - tourist gates of new Uzbekistan" was adopted. In accordance with the decree a propaganda campaign "Samarkand - tourist gates of new Uzbekistan" will be launched.

Entrepreneurs until January 1, 2026:

Exempt from customs duty on importation of necessary goods for 4-star and higher category hotels;
Exempt from periodic customs duties on equipment imported under the customs regime of "temporary importation" for construction in the Samarkand Tourism Centre.

The II International Aviation & Logistics Forum will be held in Samarkand in Q1 2023.

Duty-free shops for foreigners will be organised on the territory of Samarkand tourist centre.

By September 1, 2023, long-distance and international bus transportation will be set up with the help of information technology. In this system:

The procedure for purchasing tickets on the Uzbus platform ;
a single platform for installation and monitoring of GPS devices on buses will be established.

By February 1, 2023, a tourist information centre will be established at the airport.
