Samarkand International Airport has received the first flights of FlyDubai Airlines

On 21 September, we reported that UAE airline FlyDubai is expected to make its first flight from Dubai to Samarkand. Today, the first direct flight landed at Samarkand International Airport.

At the airport platform, Mr. Gayrat Nematov, General Director of Air Dubai, Mr. Rustam Gabilov, Deputy Hokim of Samarkand Province, as well as Mr. Saeed Matal Al Qemzi, UAE Ambassador to Uzbekistan and other high ranking officials welcomed the Flydubai CEO Mr. Ghaith Al and his delegation.

The launch of the new Dubai-Samarkand-Dubai route included a press conference attended by Uzbekistan's Deputy Minister of Transport Jasurbek Choriev, Uzbekistan's Deputy Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage Nusratilla Zikrilaev, Chairman of Uzbekistan Airports JSC Rano Jurayeva, UAE Ambassador to Uzbekistan Sayed Matar Al Kemzi, Air Marakanda General Director of Uzbekistan Gayrat Nematov and FlyDubai Chief Executive Officer Gheit Al Gheit.

"The opening of the new route connecting Samarkand to Dubai benefits the entire Samarkand region.
