Sardor Umurzakov met with the President of Turkmenistan. The issue of gas supplies was also discussed

Head of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov met with President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdymukhamedov on December 12.
At the meeting, the sides stressed that the mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation has risen to a new qualitative level in recent years. It has been noted that the positions of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan on topical issues of regional and global agenda, particularly on ensuring global peace and security and achieving sustainable development goals are close and similar.
The sides noted that the trade and economic sphere is a priority sphere of bilateral cooperation. From this perspective, the sides noted the need to maintain the positive dynamics of trade turnover and optimally implement the agreements reached during mutual visits and negotiations.
It is noted that during the meeting the sides discussed cooperation in resolving the energy crisis in Uzbekistan.
Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan possess remarkable capacities in boosting mutual trade and investment, in implementing joint projects in industrial, transport, energy and agricultural sectors.
It should be noted that the cultural and humanitarian sphere is an integral part of bilateral relations, and close and effective relations have been established in this regard.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed confidence in the successful development of strategic interstate cooperation.
