Shahrullo Mahmudov re-elected as AWF Vice-President

The regular reporting and elective Congress of the Asian Weightlifting Federation (AWF) took place today in the Qatari capital of Doha. The event saw a renewal of the International Federation's leadership. Deputy Minister of Youth Policy and Sports of Uzbekistan, first vice-president of Uzbekistan Weightlifting Federation Shahrullo Makhmudov was re-elected vice-president of AWF.

During the event, the current president of the organization, Yusuf Al Mana, retained his position. International Weightlifting Federation president Muhammad Jalud was also elected first vice-president of the AWF and Muhammad Al Harbi was elected general secretary of the Asian Weightlifting Federation.

The officers elected and confirmed today will hold their posts until the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. It should be noted that Shahrullo Sharipovich has also fruitfully worked as Vice-President of AWF and a member of the Executive Committee of the International Weightlifting Federation before that.
