Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated the participants of the festival of friendship between the Uzbek and Turkmen peoples

The opening ceremony of the festival of friendship of the Turkmen and Uzbek peoples, designed to open a new page in the history of relations between the neighboring countries, was held on November 16 in the administrative center of Tashkhovuz region of Turkmenistan.

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated the participants of the festival.

"I express my deep gratitude to President of Turkmenistan, respected Serdar Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and all organizers of today's festival of friendship for holding it at a high level in the unique city of Dashoguz.

There is no doubt that historical and cultural ties of the Uzbek and Turkmen peoples serve as a solid foundation of centuries-old ties of friendship and brotherhood. This important forum aimed at further consolidation of truly friendly and good neighborly relations vividly demonstrates again the organicity and generality of noble goals, aspirations and ambitions of our peoples.

I am convinced that we will continue to jointly hold such cultural festivals, bringing the two brotherly and friendly nations even closer," Shavkat Mirziyoyev said in his congratulatory message.

For information, the festival of friendship of the Uzbek and Turkmen peoples was organized on the initiative of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov during his state visit to Uzbekistan in July this year.
