Shavkat Mirziyoyev: Independence was not easy to achieve

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the alley of memory of martyrs on August 31. Representatives of state and public organizations, luminaries gathered to commemorate the victims of repression. The Qur'an was recited and blessed about those who passed away.

There is a great sense in commemorating the devotees of our motherland precisely on the days of Independence Day. This means once again that the service to the people will never be forgotten, the value of the freedom and peace of our country.

Since 2001, August 31 has been celebrated as “Day of remembrance of victims of repression”. Work is underway to cheer up the spirits of our grandfathers Jadid, to study his life and heritage. Last year, the museum “Memory of the victims of repression” was reconstructed. Its branches were opened in the Republic of Karakalpakstan and all regions.

This year, the museum organized an exposition dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the sending of jadid students to study in Germany.

The head of State entered the museum and got acquainted with this exhibition.

“It is not for nothing that we come here every time and pay attention. Independence was not easy to achieve. With the fact that our independence was 31 years, our grandfathers tried to do this 100 years ago. 100 thousand of our compatriots were repressed, and 13 thousand were brutally shot. Why? The analysis is. They were our greatest heroes, the treasure of the nation. He knew 2-3 languages. They knew that it would free our homeland and bring it to progress. It is as if their voices were heard here,” said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The memory of our martyr ancestors who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of our people, for the sake of truth and justice is always alive. The head of our state noted that this history has not yet been studied to the end, it is necessary to continue research to identify victims of repression and restore their memory.
