Ski resorts in the Alps risk closure due to lack of snow

According to WSJ, ski resorts in the Alps may close due to lack of snow. It is noted that artificial snow did not help as it was very hot in the French commune of La Mort, where the Alpe du Grand Serre resort is located, in January.

According to the management of the facility, the snow resort has long been experiencing financial problems. It is noted that the organisers plan to relocate the ski base, increase cycling and hiking trails, and build an artificial lake for snowmaking.
