Smart tourism technologies are being introduced in Uzbekistan

In August 2022, the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, in cooperation with the world-famous French company Orpheo, signed an agreement on the introduction of the Progressive Web App, an innovative product of PWA - "Digital audio guide to the attractions of Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva and Tashkent".

A special feature of the manual is its ease of access. The app can be opened through any mobile browser by entering the URL or scanning the QR code. No need to download from the App Store or Google Play.

Content is instantly viewable by loading cached data. This eliminates the need to spend time waiting before starting the journey. The app updates every time you open it. This ensures that the most up-to-date information is provided. Storage of media files in the browser is optimized. The data is loaded into the cache, so the amount of available content is not limited.

Also, a PWA search engine works just like a traditional website (Google's algorithm has rated PWA search engine highly) and users can easily distribute its short URL to others.

On the eve of the opening of the SCO summit in Samarkand, the first stage of the digital audio guide to the sights of Samarkand in Russian and English was launched. You can find the application on the website of the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, in all cultural and historical objects (via QR codes), as well as on the website of the Orpheo company.
