Sony is intending to penetrate the electric car market

The company presented a prototype of a new electric car and announced its intention to create a separate division for the production of such cars.
Sony will launch an electric car division in the spring, the company reported in a press release.

CEO Kenichiro Yoshida announced his intention to penetrate the electric car market at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. “We are considering the contingency of launching commercial production of Sony electric cars,” Yoshida was quoted as saying by The Verge.

At CES 2020, Sony unveiled a prototype of the Vision-S electric car. In December of the same year, the vehicle was tested on European roads for the first time. In April, Sony tested it using a remote control over the 5G network.
