As we reported earlier, the II World Conference on Early Childhood Care and Education (WCECCE) began its work in our capital on November 14. Today, November 15, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev participated in the event attended by industry experts and representatives of international organizations from about 150 countries. The head of the state spoke at opening of the conference.

The key figures of Shavkat Mirziyoyev's speech at the World Conference on Early Childhood Care and Education in Tashkent:
- Currently, there are about 3 million preschoolers in our country;
- In our country, the pre-school education coverage rate has dropped to 27 percent in the recent past;
- In recent years, the number of preschool institutions in our country has increased sixfold. Thousands of family kindergartens have been set up in remote and remote areas. The number of teachers and educators also tripled and reached 160 thousand;
- The number of children receiving education and upbringing in kindergartens increased from 600 thousand to 2 million, and the coverage reached 70 percent;
- In 2025, we will take all necessary measures to bring the level of coverage of children in preschool education to 80 percent;

"In addition, as part of meeting the targets set by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, we aim to reach 100 percent of 6-year-olds with a school preparation program by 2025," the head of state said in his speech.
