Spain eases restrictions imposed against coronavirus

In Spain, the requirements for wearing a mask from 20 April are significantly softened.

Until now, the inhabitants of Spain were obliged to wear a mask in all public places, including closed places in shops, cafes, restaurants or schools. About two years ago in the country, a strict mask-wearing procedure was introduced. “The Council of Ministers approved the termination of the mandatory wearing of masks in closed areas from 20-April”, the message said.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic, more than 47 million cases of infection have been identified in 11,6 million people in Spain, while more than 103 thousand patients have died. At the end of December 2020, the vaccination process began in the country. At the same time, 12 percent of Spaniards over 90 years of age are fully vaccinated against coronavirus.
