Spanish woman spent 500 days underground

A 50-year-old woman from Madrid descended into a cave 70 meters underground on Nov. 20, 2021 and ascended on April 14, 2023. She spent 500 days in complete isolation from the outside world.

According to Beatrice Flami, who entered the cave at age 48, she exercised, read, painted and knitted.

"I didn't really want to go out. I was asleep when they came down into the cave after me. I thought something was wrong. Looking at them, 'Already? No way! - I haven't finished my book yet," I said. I feel like I'm still stuck on November 21, 2021. I don't know anything about the world," the woman said.

"Flamini's 500-Day Adventure was part of the Timecave project, and the goal was to assess people's ability to live underground for long periods of time," the AP reported.
