Sweden for the first time extradited a suspect to Uzbekistan through INTERPOL

For the first time a Swedish citizen on the international wanted list has been extradited to Uzbekistan through Interpol. This was reported by the National Central Bureau of Interpol of Uzbekistan.

It is said that the detainee conspired with a group of people to sell real estate by forging documents "according to a well-thought-out plan" and caused significant financial losses to the victims.

The defendant was in hiding in the EU, but investigations revealed his identity and he was arrested in Sweden.

The arrest was preceded by a meeting between the heads of the Uzbek and Swedish Interpol National Bureaus in the margins of the annual conference of Interpol bureau heads in Lyon, France, as well as lengthy correspondence and negotiations at the request of the Uzbek Prosecutor General's Office.

The detainee was taken to Uzbekistan, where he will stand trial.
