Tashkent hosted an Uzbekistan-Latvian business forum

An Uzbek-Latvian business forum was held in Tashkent during the visit of a delegation of the Government of the Republic of Latvia and business community to the Republic of Uzbekistan, where event more than 100 representatives of Latvian and Uzbek business circles attended.

The Uzbek side was also participated by heads of a number of ministries, departments, industry associations and commercial banks.

At the opening ceremony of the forum, the heads of delegations - Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan - Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade S. Umurzakov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs gave their speech.

The heads of delegations of the two countries stressed their commitment to creating the most favorable conditions for practical cooperation between Latvian and Uzbek entrepreneurs and investors, as well as to intensify cooperation between the two countries, with a view to implementing mutually beneficial projects in promising sectors.

At the end of the event, the heads of delegations of the two countries called on the business community to actively work together and establish a constructive dialogue on new "growth points" of the bilateral economic partnership.

As a result of the forum, the Protocol of the second meeting of the Uzbek-Latvian Business Council and the Memorandum of Cooperation between IT-Park (Uzbekistan) and the Latvian company “ShipleArt” were signed on cooperation in the development of information and communication technologies and innovations to attract funding for startup projects in Uzbekistan.
