Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers has been elevated to the status of a university

According to the presidential decree, the university will be a base university for training personnel in such areas as hydropower, irrigation, land reclamation, ecology and environmental protection.

The followings are the main activities of the University:

• Higher education in hydropower, irrigation systems management, construction of water facilities, cadastre and geoinformatics, "green economy", "green energy", ecology and environmental protection, agricultural machinery, digital technologies training of engineering personnel;

• Irrigation system amelioration, creation of economical irrigation technologies, establishment of land reclamation assessment based on "digital agriculture" and geo-information systems and development of improved methods to increase soil fertility;

• Formation of modern educational, scientific and laboratory base, equipping it with advanced technological appliance and expanding scientific and innovative research aimed at the development of the industry and the formation of an effective system for their transfer;

• Improvement of scientific solutions to increase the efficacy of research in the field of ecology and environmental protection, improve the system of accounting and management of water resources, design, construction and digitization of hydraulic structures;

• Training of scientific and pedagogic personnel, developing continuing education systems on retraining and professional development:

• Introduction of joint educational programs and research projects with leading foreign higher education institutions, professional development of university professors, master's and doctoral programs of graduates in national and foreign higher education institutions (research centers) organization of education;

• Orientation of the learning process to develop students' independent learning, systematic analysis, creative thinking and practical skills, including entrepreneurship;

• Development of the most advanced innovative technologies for sectors of the economy through the introduction of international educational standards in the educational process, the harmonization of education and research;

• Activities Coordination of specialized educational institutions, strengthening their material and technical base.
