Tashkent is among the Top-10 cheapest cities in the world

Mercer, the US company, unveiled the ranking of the most expensive and cheapest cities in the world. According to it, Hong Kong was recognized as the most expensive city, while Ankara was recognized as the cheapest city.
Tashkent took the seventh place in the Top-10 list of cheap cities.
The rating, which has been compiled for 27 years, takes into account key factors such as changes in exchange rates in cities, inflation, instability of housing prices, as well as evaluation of more than 200 goods and services, including transportation, clothing, food, and medical services.
"Inflation and currency volatility fueled by the global health crisis and the conflict in Ukraine are affecting international economic balances and the cost of living for all of us," the company wrote.
227 cities from around the world were enrolled in this rating, but "Mercer" did not include a single city from Russia and Ukraine in the list. In determining the cost of living, places continued from the most expensive to the cheapest.
The 10 cheapest cities include cities where the majority of the population is Muslim. Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, took the 221st place in this ranking and took the 7th place among cheap cities.
Kazakhstan's city of Almaty is on the 219th place, Dushanbe - the 225th place, and Bishkek - the 226th place. The ranking was completed by the capital of Turkey - Ankara (227th place), which was recognized as the cheapest city to live in the world.
