Tatarstan - Uzbekistan: investment stage in cooperation

On January 11, 2022, Sardor Umurzakov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan - Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, and President of the Republic of Tatarstan R.N. Minnikhanov held talks in the form of a video conference.
The conference was attended by the heads of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan and other relevant ministries and departments, as well as heads of Tatarstan agencies and large companies.
During the meetings, the parties canvassed and agreed on steps to boost the realization of cooperative projects in the scope of interregional cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation. All issues concerning the execution of large-scale projects in the fields of chemical, oil and gas, automotive, medical equipment and robotics, housing and community services, science and technology, and innovation were thoroughly scrutinized.
The parties agreed to organize the visit to Uzbekistan in the short run to hold talks with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan and the management of large companies in order to strengthen relations and agree on all aspects of practical cooperation.
At the end of the event, both parties supported the proposal to intensify regular dialogue in the framework of the considered areas of cooperation in order to accelerate the promotion of existing projects and develop proposals for further deepening cooperation between the territories of Tatarstan and the Republic of Uzbekistan in priority areas.
