Tax Free system introduced in 5 regions of Uzbekistan

Tax Free service points set up by the State Tax Committee began operating at airports in Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, Fergana and Urgench on 1 January.
It is worth noting that in order to receive a VAT refund, it is necessary to register with the "tax" mobile app and scan receipts received for purchases through it. On departure from the airport, the passenger must check in for the flight and then go to the "Tax Free" service, presenting the boarding pass and the goods themselves. The checked-in item may be left as hand luggage or returned to the check-in point and checked in as luggage.
In order to use the Tach Free service, the total amount of goods purchased must exceed 1 million soums. In addition, the product must be unopened and unused. Tax Officers will issue a cashback after checking that the product meets all the criteria. For different categories of goods, you will receive a cashback of up to 90% of the VAT amount. The cashback is credited to the passenger's card and is to be paid after the 25th day of the month following the month of check-in.
The aim of the introduction of Tax Free is to attract more tourists to our country and to further increase the tourist potential of the country.
