Teachers' status is protected by the Constitution

It is noted that the status of teachers and the protection of their honour and dignity should be defined separately in the Constitution. From next year, primary classes will be taught with textbooks created on the basis of a completely new methodology.

"We are striving to build the New Uzbekistan on the principle of a 'social state'. We must enshrine this in the Constitution. A social state means, above all, equal opportunities for realizing human potential, creation of the necessary conditions for people to lead a decent life, and reduction of poverty," the head of state said.
