The 3rd meeting of the Uzbekistan-Bangladesh intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation

Today, on July 29, the 3rd meeting of the Uzbekistan-Bangladesh intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation was held in Dhaka.
The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Jamshid Khodjayev and the Minister of Trade of the People's Republic of Bangladesh Tipu Munshi.
The leaders of the main ministries and departments, branch associations, and diplomatic missions of the two countries also took part in the dialogue. The current state of trade and economic relations, industrial cooperation and cooperation in the cultural-humanitarian sphere and the prospects for their development were discussed.
Touching on the prospects for the development of industrial cooperation, the parties agreed to activate the Agreement on the Promotion and Mutual Protection of Investments and to encourage the establishment of joint ventures for the production of products with high added value.
Issues of development of cultural and humanitarian cooperation were also in the focus of attention of the parties. In connection with the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Bangladesh, it was agreed to hold Uzbekistan Culture Days in Bangladesh and Bangladesh Culture Days in Uzbekistan during 2022.
In addition, the issues of accelerating cooperation in the field of tourism, including the use of the tourism infrastructure of Uzbekistan by Bangladeshi pilgrims passing through the transit routes within the framework of the "Umra+" program, were discussed.
