The 5th meeting of the Uzbek-Emirati intergovernmental commission will be held in Samarkand

Uzbekistan's working group headed by Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov is in the United Arab Emirates. On the first day of the visit, meetings and negotiations with the leadership of the UAE Ministry of Economy and Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure were held.

In particular, during the meeting with Minister of Economy Abdullah bin Touk Al-Marri the current issues of bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation expansion and the process of implementation of joint projects were discussed.

The sides considered purchasing state-owned shareholdings in tourism, chemical, agricultural, construction and other industries, as well as participation of UAE companies in privatization processes in Uzbekistan.

In May this year, the sides agreed to hold the 5th meeting of Intergovernmental Uzbek-Emirati Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation and a joint business forum in Samarkand.

During the dialogue with Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail Mohammad al-Mazroui, topical issues of expanding bilateral investment cooperation in energy sector and infrastructure development of Uzbekistan have been discussed.

The UAE side stressed that cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United Arab Emirates is a practical example of effective and successful mutual partnership.
