The Ad-Hoc Meeting of the Ministers of ITC of the Organization of Turkic States

An extraordinary meeting of theMinisters and high-ranking officials responsible for Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) of the OTS was held today, May 26, in Baku.

The meeting was chaired by Rashad Nabiyev, Minister of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and moderated by OTS Secretary General Baghdad Amreev. The event was also attended by the Ministers responsible for ICT of the OTS member and observer states, as well as Deputy Minister of Information Technologies and Communications Jamshid Egamberdiyev and Deputy Minister of Innovation Development Olimjon Toychiyev took part.

Simultaneously with the TECHNOFEST Azerbaijan Aerospace and Technology Festival, the ministerial meeting began with the Take Off Baku startup summit and the opening ceremony of the TECHNOFEST. The ministers, senior government officials and experts who attended the meeting held a TECHNOFEST VIP tour and visited various pavilions of the event.

In the afternoon, the ministers canvassed a number of issues on the agenda:

• Digital infrastructure development;

• E-government;

• Cybersecurity;

• Cooperation in the implementation of joint projects for the development of ICT infrastructure;

• Review of the draft Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of ICT between the Member States of the Organization of Turkic States;

• Development of a "General System for Registration of Mobile Devices" among OTS member states;

OTS Digital Innovation Catalog Project.

At the end of the meeting, a joint presentation was made by ICT experts from Azerbaijan and Turkey.
