The CEC held a meeting with the Chairman of the Election Commission Sushil Chandra

At the invitation of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a delegation headed by the Chairman of the Election Commission of India, Sushil Chandra, arrived in our country to observe the upcoming presidential elections.

On October 21 of this year, the Chairman of the Central Election Commission, Zainiddin Nizamkhodzhayev, met with the Chairman of the Election Commission of India, Sushil Chandra. During the meeting, the guests were informed about the electoral system in Uzbekistan, the ongoing work to improve the electoral legislation.

It is noted that thorough preparation for the presidential elections, their conduct on the basis of generally recognized international principles directly depends on improving the level of knowledge and skills of members of election commissions on national electoral legislation based on international electoral standards.
In this regard, trainings were held for election organizers in several stages with the participation of leading scientists in the field of electoral law, professors of domestic universities, experienced specialists.
An important feature of the amendments made to the Electoral Code is that in order to ensure transparency of the use of election campaign funds by political parties, the publication of pre-election interim and post-election financial reports has been put into practice, as well as the announcement of the results of the audit of the party's activities by the Accounting Chamber.

At the meeting, the Chairman of the Election Commission of India, Sushil Chandra, praised the work on improving the electoral legislation and the results achieved in Uzbekistan. He also focused on establishing cooperation between the Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan and the Election Commission of India.
