The coldest temperature in US history has been recorded

The Washington Post reports that the coldest temperature in the country's history was recorded in the state of New Hampshire at the end of the week. It was reported that freezing temperatures of -42 degrees Celsius were recorded at the summit of Mount Washington, with wind speeds on the mountain reaching 160 km/h.

According to NASA, the temperature at the summit of Mount Washington is slightly lower than the average for Mars. It is noted that the previous record in the US was set in 2004, when the temperature was -38.8 degrees.
