The competitiveness of a domestic manufacturer is directly related to reforms in the field of standardization and technical regulation

On June 2, the President signed a decree "On measures to organize the activities of the Uzbek Agency for Technical Regulation under the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan."
The main objectives of the agency are to deepen structural reforms and transformations in the areas of standardization and certification and improve the national quality infrastructure.
Roadmap for the implementation of 23 practical measures and activities in 10 areas:
Strengthening the regulatory framework
Implementation of international standards
Improvement of technical regulations and modernization of the testing base
Procedures are translated into "digital"
Implementation of modern methods in product conformity assessment
procedures
Favorable conditions for the development of foreign trade while ensuring the protection of the domestic market from low-quality products
Simplification of state registration procedures
It is also simplified:
the procedure for adopting normative acts in the field of technical regulation based on international requirements. Ministries and departments will conduct an examination of the standards of organizations without charging a fee.
